Don’t you be NOT BoomerSmart!

You don’t want to miss this! A wrap-up of my popular “next life kitchen must-have” series is all right here. Take a look and see for yourself:

If you happened to miss my blog post on the three kitchen must-haves I’ll have to have in my next life, you can see it here. Need a refresher on which appliances are in my kitchen appliance graveyard vs. which appliances I couldn’t live without? You can read that blog here. And here are some of the highlights to consider if you’re ever remodeling or designing a new must-have kitchen yourself.

Simple but charming kitchen

I just love this gorgeous kitchen by architect Pi Smith illustrating the beautiful effect of adding more windows to our kitchens. Imagine the huge difference in this kitchen if those side windows were upper cabinets.

microwave drawer

I have had the Sharp microwave drawer for 10 years and love it for its ergonomic and safety placement, just as this own shown in this kitchen designed by Fiddlehead Design Group!

The number one must-have for my next life kitchen: Without a Boomer doubt, it’s a Wolf Steam Combo Wall Oven. Why? It is so healthy to cook with steam and also it is so fast and delicious!

The smaller dishwasher drawer is just the cat’s meow. No mildew or hardened food when doing dishes frequently. And again, this too is so ergonomic! Kitchen by The Sky is the Limit Design, photo by Works Photography.

Isaacs kitchen-marked

Out-of-the-box thinking for 5 or 6 years ago were these open shelves and tile used in a most unexpected way in those years. Kitchen designed by Mitzi Beach Interiors.

Under counter refrig Placement-marked

Placing an under-counter refrigerator at the end of the island was so effective at helping traffic flow from the business end of the kitchen while directing folks to other areas — and they don’t even realize it! Kitchen designed by Mitzi Beach Interiors.

Wall storage is the now in thing replacing the need for as many upper cabinets. This  Swing-Out Tall Kitchen Cabinet Chef’s Pantry from Rev-A-Shelf is another wonderful example of the storage we seek today in our kitchens.
