The older I get, the higher my gratitude meter needs to goes up & up & up.
Why?
Because if I am not grateful for all that I have now, right now @ this very time, what does that say about me?
It says that I am not acknowledging my faults of being a perfectionist, always striving for new and higher goals, and my fears of insecurity and anxiety if I do not obtain these often unrealistic goals. And to me, contentment without a grateful heart is impossible.
And yes, the flip side of these traits is all good stuff as long as I am grateful for where I am and what I have and what I have accomplished in the right here and the right now.
So, here is my “THANKFUL” @ this THANKSGIVING @ this age & stage of my life.
My FAITH is my ultimate above all and everything in my life.
I am only doing what I am doing because of a life-giving sustaining faith that fills me with hope and joy and peace no matter my circumstances.
My FAMILY
Blessings beyond what I ever imagined!
My HEALTH
My late dad said all the time, if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything.
And health means being able to live your life independently doing what you love to do.
This looks different for all of us, but I so value my health, and am working to the best of my ability and resources to maintain it. Heck no, I want to get healthier and healthier!
My RELATIONSHIPS
My relationships become dearer and more valued but my inner circle becomes smaller and smaller and yet, I am thankful for all my new, old, and yet to be relationships.
This gives my life excitement, enrichment, and a security of knowing I can depend on my special relationships for whatever may come my way.
Of course I am thankful for my home, Cypress, my business and this new endeavor and many, many other very major important areas of my life currently in my sixties.
But, without my top four, FAITH, FAMILY, HEALTH, & RELATIONSHIPS,
all else would be meaningless, plastic, & never enough to really, really be,
THANKFUL @ THANKSGIVING
