Ready, Set, Reset!

Can you identify your time robbers or even go as far as identifying your destiny stealers?

Well here we are at the start of a lick smacking brand new year, so what better time to start figuring out just what the heck is sabotaging us year after year!

Now I said start, not reinvent our worlds in one post here. But let’s get started on a huge biggie, I firmly believe:

CLUTTER is EXCESS.

CLUTTERED SPACES = CLUTTERED MINDS

Remembering that clutter is also defined as excess; this could be in the form of:

EXCESS CLOTHING

EXCESS POUNDS

EXCESS PILES OF PAPER, WHATEVER FORM

EXCESS SOCIAL MEDIA TIME

EXCESS TV WATCHING

EXCESS SPORTS FOLLOWING

EXCESS STUFF IN ALL OUR SPACES

EXCESS IN ACTIVITIES

I am here to admit that my list of clutter or excess has been a life long issue and challenge. Like you, my life is very busy so what is the easiest thing to ignore? Yep, you get it.

Like so many others are doing, I too am trying to identify my TIME ROBBERS and even go so far as to call them my DESTINY STEALERS. Oh yes, these mundane issues of excessive clutter, whatever they may be, are a very real inhibitor of what we are supposed to be doing and who we are meant to be becoming.

What would or could we be doing with our lives without our excess of  _____________?

What is often at the root of our denial or procrastination? FEAR

Recently, I shared one of the most profoundly relevant videos on this exact enemy of our reaching our ultimate purposes and dreams and goals. Here it is:

But wait. This is a new day and a brand new year full of potential and breakthroughs. And yes, this opportunity is for all of us!

One of my excess or life clutter issues was my clothing, shoes, “products,” and accessories. I can proudly say that I am 90% completed on this personal cluttered excess in my home. Now, to tackle that travel excess issue I have!

However, my extremely HUGE challenge of excessive clutter was in my design studio. And I do mean excessive. It all looked so serene in photos but not behind closed cabinet doors or drawers or files. I tell you all that for years I have been trying to get a handle on this monster in my every day world. Finally, an amazing friend, Jan, offers to help me and boy was she ruthless. Exactly what I needed. You can see from these images my secret messes.

So how does At Home relate to this post on clutter? Very simply, by providing us ways to control that monster with very charming and useful storage items to help keep us on track with designated places for what remains after the sorting is finished.

A dear boomer client had bookshelves loaded with books that were never, ever touched. Sound familiar? A trip to At Home with fabulous baskets as our incentive to “rid out” the unnecessary for the necessary in her newly allocated personal office space.
