I’m getting your email but I can’t find the link to download your holiday recipes.
    Welcome back to Ohio!

I’m not sure if it’s possible for most, but we’re making a good try this year! My FIL and BIL were just diagnosed with diabetes and SIL already has diabetes. Others are trying to lose weight. We are aiming for a low sugar, guilt-free thanksgiving! We shall see!

    • mitzi beach

Wow Julie! What a testimony on how essential it is that we take our lifestyles seriously when it comes to our eating. Like you, I am constantly hearing of major health issues of so many that sadly, could have been prevented or lessened with better life choices.
I try to do the very best I can without sacrificing the pleasure of holiday celebratiions and actually every day by keeping my 80-20.rule as my guide.Life can still be enjoyed doing it with the SMARTS. I wish you all the very best efforts! xoxo

We are all trying to stay healthier here too – making better choices is so important, especially when the holidays revolve around food celebrations! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Mitzi!

    • mitzi beach

Yes, Janet with what you have been posting, I hear you that you are definitely working on staying healthier with lots of your choices. This is the time of year as I said on the video, that I can undo all my hard work and efforts if I am not MINDFUL of what I am choosing to eat. But now that we have options, we can do this SMARTER . 🙂 ! Happy Thanksgiving to you too! xoxo

Thanks, I love that what you came up with is a win win for everyone. Holidays are always a problem for us trying to lose a few pounds. Great ideas.

    • Mitzi

You are so very welcome Mary Ann! Learning that we can still enjoy our foods while eating SMARTER is really a very easy thing to accomplish with a little effort and a whole lot of adjusting our choices.I hope that you can use some of my recipes but do not tell anyone they are healthy!…:)

  5. Leslie Carothers

I watched most of the video, Mitzi, and loved it when you said, “The kitchen smells just like Thanksgiving.” I think this is so important.. even when cooking without so much butter.

Thanks for reminding us all that it’s possible to have a healthier Thanksgiving, without giving up the taste memories that make it such a revered tradition.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving in your new home there in Ohio!

    • Mitzi

Yes, Leslie it is possible to enjoy our holidays with delicious traditional foods with a healthier spin on it with wiser choices. And again, I do not give everything up being a true foodie but I do eat a lot smarter by portion control and cooking and eating SMARTER. Just watching the faces of family or guests walking into Thanksgiving dinner of pure joy to the smells emulating from the kitchen. This is life at its best!

  6. Sheri Bruneau

In Canada, we already had our Thanksgiving and I LOVE the smell of the kitchen during this holiday. Great reminders on being more conscious about healthier eathing at this time of year.

    • Mitzi

Hello Sheri and thanks for the reminder that our Canadian friend’s calendar often differs from ours. It is such a wonderful time of year to gather and give thanks and to have all those wonderful smells and tastes to give all of us such a lovely appreciation of how good life can be even if we do make an attempt to do it differently.

  7. Lisa Peck

Mitzi, thanks for the great tips! I work hard to use whole foods and do so in a healthy way! I’m going to check out your cook book. I try newer healthier things every year and focus more on activities and less on eating more than is advisable!

    • Mitzi

You are a winner Lisa with your efforts since it is a sprint not a marathon that will bring the lasting health benefits we all are seeking. And we will be sending the free download to my holiday cookbook to all those signed up for my email weekly posts. I so appreciate your comments! xoxo
