Four Reasons You’ll Love Having A Screened-in Porch

I’ve lived in various climates and on both coasts of the U.S. And while I absolutely love living in the Midwest, it seems so few in this area have the very enjoyable feature of a screened-in porch on their homes.

When we designed “Cypress,” I knew we had to create a screened-in porch space. Would you know I get more compliments on it than any other room in my home?

Here are 4 Reasons You’ll Absolutely Love Having A Screened-in Porch:

1) You can use it nine months out of the year

How’s that for functional living spaces? It provides plenty of shade in hot summer months, keeps the air flowing and you’ll enjoy the fall breezes. You can even sit outside and enjoy the rain without getting drenched.

2) Makes outside dining feel like a vacation

Home away from home…

3) Cozy spaces make for memorable experiences

Since they tend to be small spaces, they are also intimate. Your guests will rave about your quaint dinner parties while watching the sunset (in fact, they’ll never want to leave).

4) A living and dining space in one

Our screened-in porch is a multi-purpose one. While one side was furnished for dining, there’s also a section with sofas and comfy over-sized chairs for talking, reading,  and just some good old fashioned quiet time.

Do you have a screened-in porch on your home? What’s your favorite part about it? If you don’t have one, what do you think would be your favorite part of adding one?
