Is anywhere in your home a healing space?
Over decades of designing all sizes and types of homes, rarely do I see or hear my clients speak of their healing spaces.
Light bulb moment! How many of our homes are actually providing us with any personal downtime spaces for healthier living? How can I say healthier living? Because stress is one of the biggest contributors to the myriad of health issues facing Americans today — from insomnia to heart issues and on and on.
And when the response to me is, “but Mitzi, there is no room for me to have my own space.” Well, let me tell you how easy it is to carve out a space of your own. In the weekends ahead, I will be posting visual examples of how it truly is possible to create your own downtime area.
But guess what else has to happen? What has to happen is a new MINDSET because it is essential in any new goal or endeavor, whether quitting smoking or weight loss or reducing the stresses in our lives. But often, however, it doesn’t register to us that needing a new MINDSET is so necessary even for creating our own healing space. Reducing the stress through sanctuary spaces is such an important element for healthy living. When life gets stressful, it’s not only great, but a true necessity for our overall well-being to have some place to go to take a deep breath and just relax.
So for today’s post, I’m going back to the video archives to show you my most favorite sanctuary space of all — my screened-in porch at Cypress.
Of course the goal of my posts to you all is that something will trigger your own MINDSET to re-evalutate your own living spaces in order to live in a home that does indeed heal your body and soul. If you do, we would love to hear what works for you and how you made it happen. Leave a comment below.
After all, sharing is caring and we truly care about you and your life’s experiences in your own homes or apartments or wherever you call home! Make your time there count. You deserve no less than a healing space of your own!
Living and loving life together,
